T Cycling are a brand you likely haven’t heard of. Still in the Kickstarter stages, Founder Michael Tempest is keen to bring style without the inherent cost that cycling clothing seems to attract.

Indeed a quick look at the kickstarter page shows a nice lineup ranging from bright and summery to the edgier black range with stylish lined pattern and a choice of accent colours.
Frustrated by high pricing or boring designs of cycling clothing, Mike, a Developer by day and photographer/designer by night decided to take action and do something about it. Aided by his wife and full of passion and ideas the designs began to flow and suppliers and materials sourced.

The core ethos being simply to create affordable, interesting and comfortable sports clothing. It is important to have faith in your product as an entrepreneur and there is not one item in the range you wouldn’t see Mike wearing such is his pride in the range. T Cycling also correctly identified that to stand out in an increasingly saturated sports clothing market, simply being stylish and marketing as ‘premium clothing’ would not cut it and chose to run with a lower markup to allow a more affordable pricing strategy.

A quick look at the T Cycling kickstarter support options certainly proves this, with a pro jersey at £40, bib shorts at £55, or if you can stretch to £170 you’ll be the recipient of TWO jerseys and shorts sets, certainly a lot of kit for the money and if the quality of the fabrics matches the designs then you’ll be hard pushed to get more for your money elsewhere.

As a cyclist, Mike has tested the fabrics and chamois himself and spent a lot of time with suppliers to ensure good fit and comfort in all sizes of the Italian materials which size all the way up to 4XL making them an option for the large majority of cyclists. I can’t vouch for the materials and stitching quality just yet, but when I get my hands on some I’ll be sure to let you know. For now though, head over to kickstarter and have a look for yourself, there are a few days left to get involved and get some stylish clothing at a great price.
