I’m happy to admit it, I’m always looking for new brands to try out. And, in a sea of Rapha, Castelli and all the other chique brands, it can sometimes be hard to decide those small pieces that matter, and for me one of the key pieces in my kit is the humble cap.

It is the piece that keeps my head warm in the winter, keeps the sweat away in the summer and keeps the low sun at bay on those evening rides. Without it I would be lost… With this being such an essential piece of apparel I am always looking for something a little different and when I stumbled across the Cordel brand I knew I had found a winner!

These caps are nothing but exquisite. What really set them apart from the rest is not only the materials and colourways (which appeal massively to me) but also the fact they are handmade. I took the sample provided on two tests, around the city on its own and then under a helmet on a long distance ride and in both situations I was not let down.

You are guaranteed a comfortable cap, which does everything it says on the tin but with that extra little bit of panache that only comes from a true designers eye. Cordel do also make matching musettes as well as other products so if you are looking for a bit of matchy matchy then they have this covered too.
